Meet the Management Team
The Company executive management team possesses deep managerial skills as well as significant technical knowledge required to complete the development of NxOpinion. The driving force behind the Company is Dr. Joel Robertson. Dr. Robertson is a well known businessman, author and specialist in neuropharmacology. An internationally recognized clinician, he is a bestselling author, lecturer, consultant and founder of the Company. Dr. Robertson’s greatest strength may be in his ability to surround himself with talented professions who not only have expertise in their related area but also share the passion to develop NxOpinion and impact world health.
Executive Biographies
Dr. Joel C. Robertson, Chief Executive Officer & Acting President
Dr. Robertson specializes in neuropharmacology, with concentrations in psychiatric and cardiovascular pharmacology. He is the author of eight books and multiple self-help audio series, and is widely published in professional journals. He received national acclaim for creation of a chemical dependency and psychiatric sub-acute care facility, has consulted with over 30 inpatient/outpatient chemical dependency and psychiatric facilities, and opened and administered two inpatient and three outpatient and day care facilities. Expanding his work in brain chemistry application from the clinical world to the corporate setting, Dr. Robertson has been widely sought by major companies to address executive and athletic performance. With over 20 years experience, and influencing over 14,000 individual lives through the use of brain chemistry treatment plans, he is globally recognized as a leader in brain chemistry science and therapeutics. In 1988, Dr. Robertson partnered with the owner of the Detroit Red Wings and Little Caesar’s Pizza to take his treatment philosophies to the athletic, corporate and consumer markets. It was in 1991, that Dr. Robertson obtained complete ownership of this corporation and expanded his publishing, consulting and training programs through Robertson Institute. As president of the Institute, Dr. Robertson consults with Fortune 100 companies and lectures for the American Medical Association as well as others national and international associations and organizations. He has consulted with professional athletic programs and major corporations throughout the world, including General Motors, Fuji, Dow Corning, United Airlines, Black Dot and the U.S. Department of Defense.
Developer of the National Treatment Protocols for Behavioral Emergencies and consultant to the development team of the National Treatment Protocols for Cardiovascular Emergencies for Emergency Medical Services, Dr. Robertson is passionate about saving lives. His innovative skills are responsible for the creation of NxOpinion. Dr. Robertson has served as a special consultant to various diet and nutrition franchises, and currently oversees several medically focused companies both here in the U.S. and abroad. Dr. Robertson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Ferris State University and a Doctor of Pharmacology degree from the University of Michigan.
Prashant Ranada, Director of NxOpinion and Robertson Technologies Consultant
Prashant Ranade achieved a BS degree in Engineering at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 1975. After emigrating to the United States, he enrolled at the University of Cincinnati where he received a MS degree in Engineering in 1977. Following graduation, he joined Siemens and, while working at Siemens Energy and Automation, he earned an MBA from Xavier University in 1982.
Mr. Ranade’s career has been primarily with the Siemens group of companies. He is a recent past President and CEO of Siemens L&A-Logistics and Assembly Systems (currently Dematic Corp., largest company providing supply chain and logistics automation), a company with $2 billion in sales and 5000 employees dealing principally in distribution logistics and automation. Under his leadership, L&A had profitable performance, culminating in the best year ever for Dematic’s business. As President, Mr. Ranade focused on the vertical integration of five businesses, cost savings, process improvement, development and introduction of innovative customer focused solutions and, most importantly, the development of a service based client value proposition across the company.
He was a senior executive in major segments (Industrial Automation, Diagnostics Imaging, Hi Tech Services) of Siemens in different contexts including turnarounds, acquisitions and divestitures to organic growth. From 1996 to 1999 he served as Vice President of the Small Motor Division at Rockwell Automation, after which he returned to the Siemens group.
Mr. Ranade was born in India and has lived in Cincinnati, Houston, Bradenton, FL, Cary, NC., Atlanta and Cleveland. He now lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he continues to be involved in numerous trade associations (including MAPI, IEEE, AMA, and AFSM) and not-for-profits (Juvenile Diabetes, Habitat for Humanity, and fund raising to promote social and cultural activities). He serves on the Board of Syntel Inc., a NASDAQ (7YNT) listed company providing professional information technology consulting and applications management services. Throughout his career Mr. Ranade has been a dedicated supporter of science and technology education. He is also an adjunct professor at Grand Valley State University, where he teaches Operations Management to MBA students.
Gerald L. Ehrens, Senior Advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors Member
After early career experience as a corporate executive with major worldwide management and P&L responsibilities, fiduciary experience as a Board member including the duties of Chairman, and portfolio experience in the creation, selection, management and monitoring of start-ups, turnarounds and revitalizations of mature businesses, Mr. Ehrens recently has focused his personal interest and resources on investing in, and developing, commercial real estate in the southwestern United States. His extensive industry and market experience are diverse and include health care, plastics, environmental products and services, personal care products (cosmetics, skin care and hair care) and sporting goods. Since 1994, he has been actively involved in identifying, acquiring, and, with partners, managing and developing commercial real estate investments in Las Vegas. He also has served on the board of several early stage companies in apparel, biotech and technology.
Mr. Ehrens was a member of the Board of Commercial Bank of Nevada where he was instrumental in its 1998 sale to Colonial Bank Corporation. He currently is on the Board of Directors of SouthwestUSA Bank, which is Las Vegas’ only private bank. In the area of community service, Mr. Ehrens served as President of the Las Vegas Art Museum and remains on the Board of Directors. He received a BS Chemical Engineering degree from Princeton University in 1961 and a MS Industrial Administration from George Washington University in 1965. After teaching Chemistry at the U.S. Naval Academy from 1963-1965, his corporate experience included various assignments at E.I. DuPont over a 24-year career, ultimately as Business Development Director/Corporate Manager; he next joined Union Carbide as Vice President and General Manager of New Business Development until 1992; and until 1994, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Inamed Corporation in Las Vegas
Sheila Szczepanski, R.N., Executive Director
Ms. Szczepanski is a graduate of University of Michigan-Dearborn. Sheila has spent the majority of her career caring for and serving at risk youth in inner cities of Detroit and Flint, Michigan. Her professional experience as a Registered Nurse began at Children’s Hospital in Detroit, MI. Her leadership roles began as the charge nurse on the pediatric transplant unit and team leader in the pediatric dialysis unit. She was also responsible for on-call intensive care and emergency hemodialysis. Sheila also has case management experience in homecare where she managed some of the most challenging cases in Flint. Sheila is currently the executive director of Robertson Research Institute and manages and coordinates the activities of the medical content creation and maintenance team, which is charged with medical disease research and technical disease data input into NxOpinion.
Del DeHart, M.D., Medical Director
Dr. DeHart is an Infectious Diseases Specialist, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and Associate Professor of Medicine with the College of Human Medicine, Michigan State University, where he also participated as a TRECOS fellow in epidemiology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases and is active in the Emerging Infections Network project through the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. DeHart leads the medical content team which creates and maintains the vast medical knowledgebase of NxOpinion, and coordinates expert panels advising on diagnostic criteria and prevalence weighting. Dr. DeHart has numerous national and international publications and presentations, is a noted teacher and speaker, and brings a heart for saving lives and serving the poor to this project. Dr. DeHart founded an inner city HIV clinic in Saginaw, MI, and was instrumental in initiating a mobile clinic for indigent and migrant health care in the region, through partnership with Saint Mary’s of Michigan. As an HIV specialist, he has served in Kenya and Vietnam with short term projects and has a superb understanding of many of the problems facing world medicine. Dr. DeHart received his M.D. from Michigan State University, and his fellowship training in Infectious Diseases from The Bowman-Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University.
Marc Decker, MBA, Chief Operations Officer
Mr. Decker holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Theology from Calvin College and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Marc is the Cheif Operations Officer and is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating operations for Robertson Research Institute. He is skilled in strategic planning, business development, and financial management. Mr. Decker’s leadership skills keep our projects goal-oriented and on budget.
James Robertson Jr., Business Consultant
Mr. Robertson is skilled in budget administration, program development, large and small scale retail/wholesale management, and staff development, he brings years of administrative experience to RRI. From sole proprietor to business manager to school administrator, his expertise is strong in prioritization methodology and general business problem resolution. Mr. Robertson holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Administration from Central Michigan University.
Frederic Fraizer, Healthcare Consultant
As former President and CEO of Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan, Mr. Fraizer is experienced in strategic/financial planning, organizational development, operational and financial management, governance, business development, associate and medical staff relations and community development. He is credited with the planning, building and expansion of Saint Mary’s first off-campus Ambulatory Care Center, development of the Seton Cancer Institute, enhanced development of the Field Neuroscience Institute, oversight of the Primary Care Network restructuring reducing network losses from almost $3.5 million to under $600,000, and was responsible for changing Saint Mary’s inner city setting to a campus setting which became the catalyst for re-gentrification efforts in eastern Saginaw. Mr. Fraizer was also the Director of Cardiology and Orthopedic Services and Director of Cardiac and Diagnostic Services at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan subsequent to his work at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Consulting responsibilities include assisting in business development and strategic market planning, and liaison efforts into the healthcare markets. Mr. Fraizer holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology/Physiology from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
Pete J. Perkinson, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Perkinson spent his career advancing through the ranks of financial management achieving the position of CFO with various major corporations. He then turned his attention to investing in real estate and startup ventures and engineering inspections in the Las Vegas area. His extensive corporate experience is primarily with consumer products companies in the laundry products, food and personal products areas.
He graduated from Iowa State University in 1965 with a degree in Mathematics. Next he spent a year with The American Oil Co in credit and collections. Three years in the U.S. Army followed where he went through O.C.S., spent a year in Vietnam and left as a First Lieutenant. The next 16 years were with Procter & Gamble where he spent 8 years in Japan, the last 4 as CFO Japan Operations. His final role was a CFO of the Folger Coffee Co. a subsidiary of P&G. He then moved to Tambrands Inc becoming CFO in a year. This organization operated in 93 countries so a substantial amount of time was spent on evaluating and visiting the foreign opportunities and operations. He attended all Board meeting as an ex officio member.
From there he moved to Van Camp Seafood (maker of Chicken of the Sea products) as Executive VP and Administration. This was an LBO owned by Indonesian interests. Van Camp had extensive dealings in Asia so import/export procedures and cash management were critical. His responsibilities also included Human Resources, Legal and Information Technology. He moved to Las Vegas and began investing in real estate and startup ventures. He attended classes and got licensed as an Inspector of Structures and was employed by a professional engineering firm doing litigation inspection work.
Company Leadership
Mr. Stout is the corporate epidemiologist at Ford Motor Company, and has global responsibilities for occupational health and safety. Allen is also a manager of Ford Motor Company's Global Occupational Health & Safety Data Systems. At RRI, Allen has been managing the integration of NxOpinion software development with the medical and monitoring/evaluation requirements. Allen also provides epidemiological and statistical support, including study design and analysis. Allen received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Leo University and a Master of Science in Epidemiology from Michigan State University.
Beth Stickelmeyer, R.N., BSN, Project Manager
Ms. Stickelmeyer is a graduate of Michigan State University, holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Beth has held roles in patient care coordination, program management and project coordination at various organizations and companies including Mid-Michigan Medical Center, Mid-Michigan Hospice and Dow Corning Corporation. She is manager of the various projects within the structure of NxOpinion.
Melissa Seager, CPA, Corporate Controller
Ms. Seager has over 12 years of public accounting experience, with an emphasis on private company consulting and taxation. She is the Corporate Controller, in charge of accounting functions for Robertson Technologies, and has been a Certified Public Accountant and advisor to Robertson Research Institute and the related companies since 2003. Heidi Robertson, BS, TRS, International Training Coordinator
Ms. Robertson received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Calvin College, Grand Rapids, MI. She completed an internship with Denver Parks and Recreation Department, Division of Special Needs. She is the International Training Coordinator for NxOpinion and has experience in working with developing countries to provide training programs and modules to assist them in learning NxOpinion. Ms. Robertson is also responsible for the implementation of the Robertson Wellness Programs for Assisted Living and Special Needs Clients and has been involved with Robertson Wellness brain chemistry programs for more than four years.
Nicole Decker, R.N., QA and Testing Coordinator
Ms. Decker is the QA and Testing Coordinator for Robertson Research Institute. As a registered nurse with vast international experience in philanthropic medical services, Ms. Decker brings a practical medical perspective to technology that assures the usability of the software. Her understanding of medical work flow and her familiarity with medical treatment in developing areas of the world help ensure that NxOpinion remains user friendly to the healthcare worker in resource poor settings. Ms. Decker holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Calvin College.
